The barbaric use of glue traps

It’s a sad affair that I am even writing a blog about this issue.

Although an Act of Parliament was passed in 2022 making it an offence to use a glue trap without a licence, many retailers continue to sell them without advising the general public of these conditions.


Humane World for Animals UK released on 3rd August 2025, its findings that 42% of independent DIY and hardware stores were still selling glue traps to the public.


The following article provides more information and a chilling video, which is graphic and disturbing. But we can’t be ignorant to the pain and unnecessary suffering of animals.



If you find a glue trap and do not take the necessary steps to ensure that it no longer poses a risk to a rodent, you too will be committing an offence.


Unless the user has a licence, it is illegal. Please, please help educate the general public
